It all started in some city somewhere in Europe.
Derik moved there in March '00, Freek arrived
about two years later, when Elmar had already
been there for a couple of months. They eventually
met in summer '02 after having played in other
bands and other cities before...
Later that year they began with
serious rehearsal on a regular basis and played
occasionally in a little pub in their
neighbourhood. At this time they were performing
"unplugged"-versions of their new material
together with some standard rock & pop covers.
That's when they met Anselm and convinced him
to join the band. The band name evolved over
a couple of drinks and several nights, and
decently expresses that four guys try to define
their own sound....still sort of unknown....
Well, it adds up to a classical
rock instrumentation: guitar/vocal, guitar/vocal,
bass and drums. But in their songs they easily
shift from smart melodic but harmonically
driving sounds to rather grungy guitar noise.
Taking into account the more jazzy, easy listening tracks
like "Last Call" or "Blame" still only leads
to a coarse characterization of the band's
musical spectrum. Supporting two singers
adds to that diversity, while it is still
very noticable that it all fits into a well
defined scheme:
